For the longest time I was waiting for Subaru to bring back the WRX hatchback. Then I was waiting for them to bring back the manual XT Forester. Well, guess what none of that has happened at least not as of yet anyway. In fact, all that Subaru has been excelling at is taking things away and shrinking their appeal to the automotive enthusiasts. They first took away the manual Forester XT in 2009. In 2014 they took the hood scoop off the Forester XT and in 2019 they got rid of the manual and the turbo/XT model all together. So, at this point I have no hopes of Subaru bringing anything new and cool to market.
It is time to take things into my own two hands!
In this first ever episode, we’re kicking off by building our own version of a performance Forester TS/XT/STI.
My goal for this project is to bring back all the cool old school Subaru features we have all grown to love to a modern Forester SJ XT model. We will be fabricating custom bumpers, hoods, modifying wiring and much more….
