I had some square and round high tensile steel tubing so I thought I put it to good use by using it to fabricate a front chassis brace for my Subaru project car. This type of brace connects the lower frame rails with the upper radiator support and uses the factory hood latch bolts. No drilling or modifications are required to the vehicle. In addition to other body stiffening braces that we will be building in the coming days, weeks and months these types of braces should help prevent chassis flex during high cornering loads and keep the car nice and tight. The procedure used to build this brace for my 2014 Subaru Forester XT is the exact same procedure that I used to build the brace for my 2013 Subaru WRX, 2012 Subaru Forester, 2007 Subaru Outback and my 2005 Saab 9-2x. Please excuse the state of the car as it is a work in progress. Stay tuned for more updates, mods and automotive nuttiness.
